Martí was the undisputed leader and political head of the great movement for independence, managed by the Cuban Revolutionary Party, founded in 1892 for this great effort for Cuba and the Americas.
José Martí is the only liberator in the Americas that, instead of creating a Revolutionary Committee or a Junta of Generals as an instrument for the liberation of his people, founded a democratic political party.
As an extraordinary organizer, deeply ideological, an eloquent orator and a great poet, MARTÍ is and always will be the symbol that Cubans claim for themselves.
MARTÍ is also the only liberator in the Americas that died in combat. Washington, Bolívar, Louverture, O'Higgins, and San Martín all died in their beds.

José Martí is justly known as the greatest of all Cubans and one of the most highest figures in the Americas and the world, but he's more than this.
